    Light Overtakes Darkness

    Just as the Bible is filled with references to various times, God’s Word often uses the imagery of light and darkness. Light is a powerful force; so is the dark. Have you ever been afraid of the dark? Many of us were as children, but we outgrew that fear. Yet many of us have yet to overcome our fears associated with the darkness of a troubled past.
    We have little hope of ever having complete victory over what has already happened yet continues to rule us today. So let me ask you: Have you chosen to leave the darkness of your past and enter into the light of your future? Are you aware that you have a “yet” time to come in your life, and that it really doesn’t matter how old you are? Are you aware that there is a hope waiting for you to grab hold of?
    Acts 17:26 says:
    “And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings.”
    God has a pre-appointed time and boundary for you. Do not fear the dark that is in your boundary, whether that darkness lies ahead or is in the past.
    “Darkness” can be defined as “the absence of light, error, evil, bad luck or affliction.” It is a term synonymous with chaos, disorder, condemnation, ignorance or spiritual blindness. Sometimes, when we experience gloom, sorrow and distress, we say that it is a day of darkness. And then, of course, the Bible uses the word “darkness” to refer to works of Satan and the antichrist system of unfruitful deeds. Isn’t it interesting, however, that in the Bible night is never directly connected to darkness other than the physical aspect of a time devoid of light.
    Therefore, there is no need for us to fear the night. In fact, the night is our opportunity to seek God the most. It is the period when we are not working by daylight, but instead can commune with our Lord and seek His ways. Be willing to seek God in the night so that you can bring true Light into a time of darkness.
    Light is the opposite of darkness. Light is synonymous with illumination, clearness or glory. It is equated with knowledge and the release of revelation. Light is also likened with purity. In spiritual terms, we can never forget that the light of God dwells in us. His Word is a light for our path (see Psalm 119:105). That means our path will be ever illuminated, no matter what darkness we have to walk through.
    John 8:12 says:
    “Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, ‘I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.'”

    The Blessing of Abraham - Benny Hinn

    To say that God blessed Isaac is an understatement.
    Genesis 26 records how Isaac sowed in that parched soil and reaped a huge harvest. He owned such large flocks and herds that the Philistines envied him. He even began to dig again in wells that had long ago run dry, and fresh water sprang to the surface!
    In Genesis 27, we find Isaac almost blind as he approaches the final days of his life. He knew the moment had come to pass his blessing down to his eldest son. So he requested that Esau, the rugged outdoorsman, kill some game and fix for him one more hearty meal, which he would eat before blessing Esau.
    Rebekah overheard the conversation, and when Esau left, she prepared a meal for Jacob to take to his father instead. They went to great lengths to deceive the ailing Isaac, but their deception worked, and Isaac bestowed the blessing on Jacob instead of Esau.
    Upon his return from hunting, Esau discovered what had taken place in his absence and was incensed, but the blessing given to Jacob was permanent. It could not be reversed.
    To avoid the revenge of Esau, Jacob fled for his life, running to live with his uncle, Laban. There he married and greatly prospered.
    Many years later, Jacob made the decision to return to his homeland with his family and their substantial possessions. Uncertain and fearful of how Esau would respond, he brought with him a large number of gifts to appease his brother.
    The presents weren’t necessary. As he neared his brother, Jacob bowed down to the ground seven times, but the Bible says Esau ran to meet him, embraced him, kissed him, and they both wept (Genesis 33:3-4).
    All was forgiven!
    The blessing of Abraham continued through Isaac and Jacob, and the seed multiplied through their descendants. Technically, Abraham was neither Arab nor Jew. It was his grandson, Jacob, whom God renamed Israel (Genesis 32:28), and it was Jacob’s sons who became the twelve tribes of Israel. One of those tribes was Judah—from which we derive the name “Jew.”

    A Season of God's Provision, Protection, and Power - Benny Hinn

      Come closer! the piercing voice called to me.
      Soon after I became a believer, I was praying in my bedroom, totally surrounded by the Lord’s glorious presence, and I suddenly had a vision of being drawn up in the Spirit and carried away. As I looked down, I saw an endless line of people, slowly walking forward. Their faces seemed empty and somewhat confused. I didn’t understand what I saw, so I asked, “What does this mean?”
      That’s when the voice told me to come closer, and I quickly moved near the front of the line. People, as far as the eye could see, were all moving toward a large, deep valley. In that valley was a roaring inferno. Thousands were falling into the fire. Those on the front lines were trying to keep from being pushed by the crowd, but the crush of humanity kept pushing more and more people into the flames.
      Then the Lord spoke to me: If you do not preach, I will hold you responsible.
      “Souls, Lord, souls! Open the doors for me to preach the Word so people everywhere will come to know You as their Savior and Lord.”
      It was the cry of my heart then, and it still is today!
      Soon after receiving the vision of that roaring inferno, doors began opening for me to preach, and I knew God had called me to proclaim the Gospel.
      The verse: “Necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel”
      (1 Corinthians 9:16) touched me to the core of my being.
      Brazil-EventSince then, the intensity of my prayer has never wavered. It’s been nearly 4.5 decades since that happened, and that vision is still as real to me as the day it happened.
      And that urgency for spreading the Gospel has never wavered throughout my 40-plus years of ministry. In fact, it is stronger today than it has ever been. My prayer is that my dying breath will utter the words, “Souls, souls, souls!!!”
      Precious partner, what we do, we must do now! We must act! The fields are ready for harvest, and God is calling us to action as the lengthening shadows of eternity are falling across the earth!
      As you may have seen on This Is Your Day, I recently returned from a series of meetings in Brazil. One night I preached to more than 45,000 people at one o’clock in the morning. They were so hungry for the Word of God that they began lining up 24 hours earlier in the outdoor arena nearby.
      Next, I’m headed to South Africa, where a series of meetings will take me around the edges of that great nation.
      And although you may not be able to travel to the nations, you are with me as I stand before the multitudes and proclaim the only message that will change a nation or a person’s soul:

      #1 Provision and Prosperity

      HarvestGod promises to pour out the treasures of heaven on you when you give faithfully to spread the Gospel. He wants to raise you up and anoint you for favor. God wants to anoint and bless your pocketbook so the Gospel can go forth as never before! That can only happen when you sow seed faithfully so the message of Christ can be proclaimed.
      God is sending a powerful anointing for abundance on those who sow seed during these critical days. And if you need a miracle in your life, it’s important to note that miracles happen when you give the Lord something to work with. A spiritual miracle demands a spiritual act. A physical miracle demands a physical act. And a financial miracle demands a financial act.
      When you sow seed into His kingdom, you release your faith so God can use what you give for His glory and your prosperity! Jesus Himself said:
      “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again” (Luke 6:38).
      We are also promised that “he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness”
      (2 Corinthians 9:10). God will multiply your seed-gift as you sow it toward the spreading of the Gospel. Your harvest will be increased supernaturally!

      # 2 Divine Protection

      God promises you His divine protection when you trust Him, live righteously, and give faithfully toward His work. We read in Scripture:
      “Thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings” (Psalm 61:3-4).
      CrossGod not only provides defense and protection for the righteous, but He also is a covenant-keeping Jehovah who will never leave you, fail you, nor forsake you! His divine protection and provision are ensured with a seed:
      “Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days. Give a portion to seven, and also to eight; for thou knowest not what evil shall be upon the earth”
      (Ecclesiastes 11:1-2).
      “Bread” is the Gospel.
      “Waters” represents the world. In other words, giving to spread the Gospel to the world protects your future against evil!

      #3 The Power of God

      We are told to “be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might” (Ephesians 6:10). We are also promised:
      “The exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power” (Ephesians 1:19).
      Throughout Scripture, God has promised that when we are faithful He gives us power for healing, revelation, wisdom, provision, deliverance, increased faith, and overflowing blessings:
      “All the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us” (2 Corinthians 1:20).

      The Faith of Noah - Benny Hinn

        In Genesis 7:1, the Bible declares:
        “And the Lord said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.”
        I remember asking a group of young people, “Why do you think God asked Noah to build the ark?”
        “To save all the animals,” was their immediate response.
        No. He prepared it for his family. Noah, “being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house” (Hebrews 11:7). What faith Noah must have had! People living in his day had not seen water fall from the sky, and this man declared, “It is going to rain, and the whole world will be flooded!”
        Quickly, he began building an ark to save his family from something he could hardly describe.
        God saw only Noah as pure and virtuous, yet his family was rescued. “Oh, you foolish man,” the people must have laughed.
        Before this time, rain had never fallen upon the earth. The earth had been gently watered by the dew. Imagine what the wicked people of that generation must have thought when Noah began to preach about the flood and the peril that was coming. At first they dismissed Noah’s warnings, but as he continued, they probably asked, “What is he talking about?”
        Noah told everyone who would listen that it was going to rain and flood the earth. He had total faith in something he did not fully understand and began building an ark to save his family from something he could not even describe.
        In a world filled with iniquity, there was only one person who found grace in the eyes of the Lord:
        “But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord” (Genesis 6:8).
        As a result, we know that his family escaped the flood, for the Lord said to Noah:
        “Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation” (Genesis 7:1).
        God saw only Noah as pure and virtuous, yet his family was rescued. I believe when you are righteous before the Lord, your entire family will be touched by God’s amazing grace. Centuries later, Peter wrote that God:
        “spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly” (2 Peter 2:5).
        Eight people were spared? Noah’s three sons (Shem, Ham, and Japeth) and their wives, Noah’s wife, and Noah – the eighth person. God placed him last, showing clearly that all of his children, even though unrighteous, were included in His righteousness.
        Is the Lord concerned about your family, regardless of their spiritual condition right now? You can count on it! It is a foundation throughout the Bible.

          Why Do You Worship God

          Why is your God better than all the other gods in the world? I was asked that question on an international flight by a Chinese woman who had grown up under communism. For the first 20 or so years of her life, she had been taught there was no God, but for the last 10 years, she had been reading about various religions and beliefs, and she honestly wanted to know why I worshipped God.
          I spent the next two hours telling her everything I could think of to help her understand the uniqueness and character of the God of the Bible, and to explain why the God of Christianity is, in fact, the one true God. At the time, I hoped and prayed that I gave her some pretty solid answers, but if I had it to do over again, I would simply focus on the sovereignty of God.
          Why? Because it is the sovereignty of God that sets Him apart from all other gods. So what does the phrase “God is sovereign” really mean?
          If you were to look up the word “sovereign” in the dictionary, you would find words and phrases like “superior,” “greatest,” “supreme in power and authority,” “ruler,” and “independent of all others” in its definition. But the way I like to explain God’s sovereignty best is simply to say, “God is in control.”
          There is absolutely nothing that happens in the universe that is outside of God’s influence and authority. As King of kings and Lord of lords, God has no limitations. Consider just a few of the claims the Bible makes about God:
          • God is above all things and before all things. He is the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end. He is immortal, and He is present everywhere so that everyone can know Him (Revelation 21:6)
          • God created all things and holds all things together, both in heaven and on earth, both visible and invisible (Colossians 1:16).
          • God knows all things past, present, and future. There is no limit to His knowledge, for God knows everything completely before it even happens (Romans 11:33).
          • God can do all things and accomplish all things. Nothing is too difficult for Him, and He orchestrates and determines everything that is going to happen in your life, in my life, in America, and throughout the world. Whatever He wants to do in the universe, He does, for nothing is impossible with Him (Jeremiah 32:17).
          • God is in control of all things and rules over all things. He has power and authority over nature, earthly kings, history, angels, and demons. Even Satan himself has to ask God’s permission before he can act (Psalm 103:19).
          That’s what being sovereign means. It means being the ultimate source of all power, authority, and everything that exists. Only God can make those claims; therefore, it’s God’s sovereignty that makes Him superior to all other gods and makes Him, and Him alone, worthy of worship.
          Just as peasants always bowed before their king for fear of offending the one who had the authority to take their life, God’s sovereignty compels us to bow before Him. But unlike corrupt earthly kings who abuse their authority to terrorize their subjects, God rules in love. He loves you and wants the best for you.
          Romans 8:28 promises that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.
          That’s an amazing promise not only because it demonstrates that an all-powerful God cares about you and me, but because it cannot be fulfilled unless the One Who gives it is all-knowing, all-wise, all-powerful, and all-loving. The promise itself is a testimony to God’s sovereignty.
          But God makes that promise, and millions throughout history have testified to its truth because God has proven His ability to back it up time and time again.
          Think about the implications of that promise. Because God is sovereign and He loves you, nothing will ever come into your life that He does not either decree or allow.
          Consequently, no matter what you face in life, you can take comfort in the fact that God is sovereign.
          Whether a loved one lies in a hospital bed, your child is living in rebellion, you lose your source of income, or the nation is at war, God is in control. And He is constantly working all things together for good. Somehow, He takes all the events, all the situations, all the people, the prayers, the relationships-everything involved in whatever pleasant or difficult situation you’re in-and works them together for good.
          So the next time you bow your head to pray, when you’re in a jam or need to ask God for something, remember that you’re talking to the One Who has power over the entire universe. He controls everything from the tiniest atom to the largest galaxy.
          Approach Him with the respect, awe, and wonder that He deserves, but also approach Him with confidence knowing that He can answer your prayer. And know also that because He loves you, He will answer your prayer in the way He knows is best.
